Harappan Period
One of the five oldest civilizations flourished in Panjab. The oldest city found Harappa, is found on the ancient bank of the river Ravi. It’s not stretches to call the Indus civilization an ancient Panjabi civilization.
Pre Historical Period
This is the archaeological dark period after the Harappan Bronze Age. Urban life collapsed. A new gene pool from Central Asia entered this.
Historical Period
After 600 BC, references to the Indus area started to appear in various sources. 1500 years later, archeological remains started to surface again.
Post Kharoshthi
An important era of Panjab. It’s cultural and spiritual influence spreads up to China; linguistic evidence found up to Uzbekistan; artistic skills spill into India. The center of learning is Taxila Peaks.
Script Period
Around this time, the first deciphered script emerges. We get a direct peek into language, and it’s physical evidence that we can analyze the Kharoshti era.
Arrival of Islam & Arabs
A new age starts with the Arab invasion of the Indus region. The new masters introduced new faiths, new languages, and new ideas of governance. The status quo of civilization was disturbed.
Sikh Period Starts
A new faith takes root to challenge the established system. Native thought rises again.
